Please note that the information below is provided as a supplement to the specific information for each course that you receive from your respective Faculty/School, which remains the authoritative source.
Should you have any pedagogical questions or require support, do not hesitate to reach out to the CSE’s pedagogical advisors or the educational engineer of your faculty. We are here to support you with your teaching challenges.

Change of CSE support email addresses
The CSE has simplified its support email addresses for all your questions or requests for pedagogical support. By consolidating several topics under one address, we hope to save you time. Requests will be directly assigned to the right people. Update your contacts now:

Videomat
Discover the Videomat, the brand-new video recording station for teaching. This all-in-one system will allow you to produce high-quality video content for your course almost autonomously.
A studio can be booked in the Anthropole building.
👉 All the necessary information about the station, booking, as well as a 360° virtual tour, is available in the training module.
Pedagogical Impulse Fund (FIP)
Do you want to bring a change to your teaching? Do you have an idea or project to enhance your students’ learning experience?
This fund is at your disposal to help you bring your teaching projects to life. Selected projects receive a financial envelope of up to CHF 20,000 per project for one year, and up to CHF 60,000 for larger projects over a three-year period. Applications can be submitted throughout the year.
All information regarding the fund and the project submission process is available on the FIP website.
Please note: The preparation of a project, including setting up meetings and obtaining approvals from your faculty, can take up to 3 months. If you have a project idea, contact us as early as possible to schedule an initial meeting.

Pedagogical support
In addition to the support from your faculty’s pedagogical engineer, you can contact the Centre de soutien à l’enseignement (CSE) for individual pedagogical support and to develop your teaching strategy.
These services do not apply to lecturers involved in medical courses, who may contact UPMed.
Did you know that the CSE can also assist you with:
- Video production for your teaching: to present and illustrate course content, laboratory demonstrations, fieldwork, etc. (More info)
- Group work support: for those who wish to equip their students with the skills necessary to work in groups as part of their education. (More info)
- Exam support: to analyse the results of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) by assessing the reliability of the measurement of the intended knowledge or skills in teaching, or as part of MoodleExam to check security settings or review exam questions. (More info)
- Creating teaching materials: to create or visually improve your course materials and benefit from graphic design advice. (More info)
- And you can borrow multimedia equipment for educational purposes (cameras, microphones, etc.)? (More info)

International teaching
As a lecturer, various forms of support for international activities are offered by the institution, whether for staff mobility, or for setting up transnational teaching with colleagues from partner universities, for example through Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP). You can check the eligibility criteria for BIPs on the UNIL CIVIS page.
The CIVIS Alliance, of which UNIL is a member, also offers workshops for lecturers (in English).
Training and pedagogical resources
A wide range of training designed for those responsible for teaching is offered each semester at courses.unil.ch/cse.
You will notably discover our flagship course, Reflections on University Teaching*, and from the start of the new academic year, courses on current topics impacting education, such as inclusion and assessment in the context of AI. The CSE shares its « Ondes pédagogiques » newsletter 3 times a year, featuring practices and trends from its monitoring of higher education pedagogy. This newsletter is intended for lecturers, pedagogical advisors, and anyone curious and interested in higher education pedagogy.
